
Quilter's Notes
- Formed in 1990 as a non-profit organization, the
guild was initiated:
*to preserve the culture and tradition of quilt making in the area
*to promote the tradition and understanding of the many aspects of quilt
making
*to encourage all individuals in realizing their creative abilities
- The Guild's interest are illustrated by the creation
of the "Acadian Odyssey"
-full sized applique' quilt designed and stitched by many of our
members
-on permanent loan to the city of St. Maritnville
-presented in 1999 to commemorate Congres Mondial-or the history of the
Acadians
-displayed at the Acadian Memorial in St. Martinville. LA
Where? First Christian Church 1400 West Congress (corner
of University and Congress Street), Lafayette, Louisiana
- *The meetings are held on the last Tuesday of each
month.
- "Morning group meets from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
- "Night group meets 6:30 to 8:30m p.m.
